Comb Busbars — pin type and fork type, stocked in Dubai

A comb busbar replaces the loop of individual wires between devices on a DIN rail. One section rail feeds every MCB, RCBO or RCCB in a row from a single incomer, so a distribution board wires up faster, looks tidier, and has far fewer terminations that can work loose over time.

The two types

• Pin type — the busbar pins drop into the device terminals. The common choice for standard MCB rows.
• Fork type (two lead) — the busbar forks clamp over the terminal instead of entering it. Used where the device terminal or the wiring arrangement will not take a pin.

Choosing one

• Match the poles to the row you are feeding: 1 pole for a single phase bank, 2 pole for 1P+N, 3 pole for a three phase group, 4 pole for 3P+N.
• Check the cross section against the incoming current. Our 1, 2 and 3 pole rails are 10 sq.mm; the 4 pole is 16 sq.mm.
• Count the modules. Each rail covers a fixed number of device positions over its 1 metre length — listed on every product page.
• Cut to length with a fine-tooth saw and fit end caps over any exposed section.
